Dubbed Out Festival 2027 runs from Thursday 29 July to Sunday 1 August at the Royal Cheshire Showground near Knutsford in Cheshire. It is our family festival for campervan people, and from 2027 it is camping only. Tickets are not on sale yet. They are due to go on sale on 31 January 2027, and prices are still to be announced. So here is what we can tell you now: the dates, how tickets will work, and what a first visit is really like.

What does Dubbed Out mean?

The name has two meanings. “Dubs” is short for VDubs, the VW campervans and cars that started it all. A “dubbed out” vehicle is also one that has been modded: lowered, with spoilers, aftermarket rims and all the extras. Dubbed Out is our company name too, Dubbed Out Ltd.

But if you ask us what Dubbed Out Festival is really about, the answer is the people. It is a family festival. It grew out of the Dubbed Out Community, and the vans are how we all find each other.

Is Dubbed Out a VW festival, a campervan festival or a family festival?

All three, but the family part comes first. Around 30% of the people who come are under 18, and most of those are under ten. You do not need a VW. Any van is welcome, from a classic camper to a motorhome or a converted work van, and there are no size limits beyond what is legal on UK roads. You do not need a fancy or finished van either. A standard van with a mattress and a duvet in the back is a campervan, and you will be just as welcome as anyone else.

If you are new to the scene, we think it is one of the friendliest places to start. Many people already know each other from our Dubbed Out Community group and our Campouts, but nobody needs to know anyone to turn up. You will be parked next to new people, and it is easy to end up with new friends by the end of the weekend.

Dubbed Out tickets for 2027: what we know so far

Tickets are not on sale yet. They are due to go on sale on 31 January 2027, and ticket prices are to be announced. We will not guess at them here. Sign up to the newsletter at dubbedoutfestival.co.uk for early notification and access to tickets.

  • Camping only. There are no day tickets for Thursday, Friday or Saturday, and no single-night tickets. Every ticket covers the whole weekend, either Thursday to Sunday or Friday to Sunday.
  • Children. Children aged 5 and under go free. Children aged 6 to 17 need a child ticket, and anyone aged 18 or over needs an adult ticket. You must be over 18 to buy tickets, and under 18s must be with an adult.
  • Sunday. Sunday is free entry for everyone. Simply arrive and pay £5 for your parking.
  • On the day. Bring photo ID. Your wristband is your ticket for the weekend, and wristbands cannot be passed on.
  • Selling out. There is no waiting list. In 2026 the Thursday tickets sold out about six weeks after release, and the Friday tickets sold out weeks before the festival. Read more in our 2026 sell-out news.

Arriving and setting up

Gates open at 10am on Thursday and Friday, and the last entry is 7pm. On Thursday the main arena opens to the public at 2pm, so there is no need to rush. Queues are at their worst early on, and they tend to ease after about 2pm. Arriving around midday still gives you a couple of hours to set up and settle in.

Pitches are given out when you arrive, and you cannot request one in advance. If you want to camp next to your friends, arrive together. Clubs of ten or more vehicles can camp together in a dedicated club area. Ask your club head to add you to their list. Disabled camping is for blue badge vehicles only, and for 2027 it has its own separate entrance.

Once you are parked, the camping fields become pedestrian-only and the gate is locked. You can walk in and out as much as you like, but if you drive out you cannot come back in. So top up your fuel and bring everything you need before you arrive.

Tents, awnings and gazebos

Awnings of any size are welcome on the side of your vehicle, and a tent alongside your vehicle is fine for the extra people travelling with you. Just tell the team on the gate that you have one. Gazebos and event shelters are not permitted. Caravans and trailers are welcome with a trailer pass.

What happens over the weekend

Here is the shape of the weekend. Exact times and the line-up will be announced nearer the time.

Thursday

Thursday is the arrival party. Gates open at 10am, the main arena opens to the public at 2pm, and there are stalls, a fairground and some music. The curfew is 10pm.

Friday

Friday is the first full festival day. The main stage is all tribute bands, and the dance tent and acoustic stage run too. The curfew is 11pm.

Saturday

Saturday is the big one. The main stage is all original bands, there are DJs in the dance tent from light house to hardcore and drum and bass, and the acoustic stage mixes ska, country, folk and solo artists. There is also a fancy dress competition with no set theme, so wear whatever makes you smile. The curfew is 11pm.

Sunday

Sunday is a lighter, friendlier day, and it is free entry for everyone. Simply arrive and pay £5 for your parking. Expect a show and shine, the dog show, light entertainment and stalls. Things usually wind down around 2pm, or 4pm if lots of people are still there, and everyone needs to be off site by 6pm.

What is on when the music is not

There is plenty to do from the morning. The wellbeing area has yoga, massage and sound baths, and in the evenings there are musical bingo and karaoke in Slippers the Split. There are over 100 stalls, with food, bars and camping kit, and a Dubbed Out stall for hats, hoodies and mugs. The free Dubbed Out app works offline and has site maps.

Bringing the kids

This is where Dubbed Out is at its best. The kids’ activities are all free. There is a soft play area for under fives, a bouncy castle town for five to ten year olds, a circus tent with workshops, storytellers, magicians, bubble entertainers, a fairground and a Thomas the Tank Engine train. Parents need to supervise their children at all times. There is no dedicated baby-changing facility, so pack accordingly.

Bringing the dog

Yes, you can bring your dog. Dogs are welcome on leads at all times, and you need to clear up after them. They can go into the outdoor arena areas, but not the indoor marquees. There is a dog show on the Sunday, with prizes. Before you travel, check the website for the latest pet policy.

Facilities, and what is not on site

What there is: free showers, hundreds of toilets with at least one on every campsite, a water point on every campsite and around the site, and bins around the main festival site with skips on the camping fields. Please use them. A medical team is on site, and security patrols all night. All stalls take cash and card.

What there is not: there are no electric hook-ups, no EV charging, no fuel and no cashpoint. Generators are not allowed, although power banks are fine. Bring what you need, and if you must have wifi, bring your own.

The showers can be busy first thing in the morning. If you see a queue, come back later.

The main rules in plain English

These come from our FAQ. The full terms and site rules are published on our website before tickets go on sale, so check them when they are live.

  • Be kind. Unruly or antisocial behaviour is the most common reason people are asked to leave. Removals are rare.
  • Curfews. 10pm on Thursday, and 11pm on Friday and Saturday. No music at 6 or 7 in the morning.
  • No glass. Decant food and drink into plastic or bring cans.
  • Barbecues. Waist-height only. No open flames or fire pits.
  • Alcohol. You can bring your own for personal use, but trolley loads of crates will be sent back to your van. Drinks are not allowed in the licensed bar zones.
  • No drugs. The police will be called.
  • No bikes or scooters. That includes e-scooters and adult hoverboards.
  • Filming. We film and photograph the festival for our own channels, and there is no opt-out.

What to bring

Bring the basics for a weekend in a field: plastic cups and bottles, a rain mac, sun cream and a warm layer for the evenings. Late July is typically 20 to 30 degrees, but this is Cheshire, so be ready for a shower. Our festival essentials checklist has the full list. Thinking about buying your first van? Our guide to what your first campervan really costs is a good place to start.

Will we get any sleep?

Yes. Quiet hours are enforced on the camping fields, and security patrols the site through the night. If a neighbour is causing problems, tell a member of staff and we will deal with it. This is a family festival and we will not put up with noise or unruly behaviour at night.
